Dear Brother’s and Sister’s,
the cost of health care in the country is a deterrent for many, and for those hailing from economically weak backgrounds, it is almost beyond reach, especially if the treatment warrants hospitalisation, surgery or expensive treatments.
For most families, a medical emergency can drain their financial, mental and physical strengths, leaving them helpless and despondent. Often, families push themselves into debt by borrowing money.
To address these challenges, the Vaikarai Foundation have been extending medical grants in Tamilnadu and surroundings to individual needy patients requiring specific medical treatment. After due scrutiny and a socio-economic assessment of the family, the Trusts disburse grants based on the funds available. The Trusts liaise with like-minded philanthropic organisations and private bodies in order to maximise the quantum of grant to each beneficiary.

Rakesh Anandan, a seasoned marine engineer and certified PMP®/MEO®, volunteers as a Secretary & Treasurer Trustee of the Vaikarai Foundation — a charitable initiative created by Vivera Inc.
leveraging his technical expertise and agile implementation experience to enhance our impact in education, health, livelihoods, and the arts, With a sharp eye for systems and precision, Rakesh ensures our programs are well‑planned, data‑driven, and delivered with accountability, whether rolling out community health initiatives, vocational training workshops, or digital literacy platforms.
On the Board, he brings vision and operational discipline—helping Vaikarai grow responsibly and amplify positive change across underserved communities.
This is the strategic planning committee of the foundation. Regular meetings help to evaluate the progress and effectiveness
of the programs and provide direction as to what can be accomplished in the future.
